We at the Theatre Makers project of the small non-profit Ritual Art Troupe are looking for a hands-on Stage Manager for our “20/20 Library Tour” with two free performances on February 29 and one free performance on March 1 at three San Francisco libraries.
The Stage Manager must be:
- physically and mentally capable of tracking and wrangling existing sets, props, costumes, and actors, including load-in, strike, load-out, and transport
- available to assist with casting calls
- available to co-supervise three performances and ten rehearsals with the Artistic Director of the production, including existing prompt book for blocking, light, sound, set changes, and actor entrances/exits, and attention to safety issues
- capable of driving a rental truck (highly preferred, regular driver’s license)
To interview for this Stage Manager gig, please
email theatre-makers@ritualart.org with your name, email address, phone number, city where you live, summary of stage management experience, whether you have a valid drivers license, and availability for performance dates of February 29 and March 1, 2020.
Imagine: It’s the year 2020. The President has been re-elected, the climate is heating up, and the economy is in meltdown. Now, it’s up to all of us to figure out what happens next. “20/20” asks what people power looks like in a time of vast uncertainty when even choosing to do nothing at all has its consequences.
Not only is the “20/20” play entertaining and fun, it gives audiences a chance to participate by choosing from and exploring eight possible futures: impeachment (wow, we got that one right!), electoral progress, assassination (with a disclaimer from the writers), corporate coup, military coup, do nothing, general strike, and decentralized revolution.
While the media conglomerates focus us all on petty rivalries among national politicians, so much political territory remains undiscovered.
Expense reimbursement will depend on continuing success of fundraising efforts ($100 minimum) (all other expenses are already covered, so fundraising from this point on will be for stage manager and actors reimbursements).
To see a preview video, read a review, or congratulation us on our award for the 2019 Fringe Festival version of the “20/20” play, see http://www.ritualart.org/2020
